Taking over the space formerly occupied by Kate Ledogar's 108
Gallery outside Inman Square in Somerville, owner Heather Somershein
hopes to bring and eclectic mix of art to the area and gain maximum
advantage from her six years of experience in the gallery business.
As the former director of Wentworth Gallery on Newbury Street and in
Chestnut Hill, she had been personally in charge of the touring itinerary of
60's icon Peter Max, and previous to her one year berth in Boston she
worked for Wentworth at over 20 locations around the country. Recently,
She decided it was time to go it on her own, to be her own boss and to
feed her personal ambitions as an artist herself. "I pooled together all of
my rescources, all of the contacts I have in the art world," she says. "I
figured, her I am; I'm young; I should do this now or I'll regret it for the rest
of my life."
